If you are a Star Wars fan or you’re just starting to get into Star Wars and you want something to read, then you might want to check out, “Star Wars: Light of the Jedi (The High Republic). This is a new series that is going back to the past of the Jedi order and from the time frame the movies are set in. There will be different formats for this series of the High Republic line, adult books, young reader books, and comic books will feature the banner. The first comic came out on January 6, 2021 and the new book, Light of the Jedi, was the day before on January 5, 2021.

However, if you are looking to get one of the exclusive covers or a signed one, then you are out of luck when it comes to finding them from the original sellers. Books-A-Million had an autographed copy for $28.99 but they are sold out. If you look on eBay there was one I saw for nearly $80 for the autographed copy, but my advice is to wait for the pandemic to pass, then go to where the author Charles Soule makes an appearance at. It could be a convention or he could be doing a reading or just showing up at a local book store, but having your copy signed by the author where you can say why you like the book, to say thanks, or just to have the author sign the book to your with some sort of message, it’s so much better than ordering one from eBay for a gouged price.

The other copy is an exclusive cover for the site Out of Print. It has a special jacket cover with different art work by Jama Juravaev and signed by Charles Soule. It also came with a pair of socks and an enamel pin for a fair price of only $50. Considering that the signed book is $30, a pair of socks are usually at least $10, and an enamel pin will range from $10-$30, so $50 for an exclusive one is a good deal. Sadly these are also sold out and the only place right now that I’ve found them are on eBay but you can guess that the price is no loner the fair price of $50. Nope, right now the cheapest I’ve seen the book set is at $150, then shipping, and then probably some tax means you’re looking at at least $160. For this one I have no other options on how to get a copy of other than either eBay, being bff’s or family with the publisher/printer/author/artist, or maybe if you are extremely lucky running into a copy at a con. These were a limited stock and on the one site so there is no real work around similar to getting something signed.

At any rate, my advice is that if you are a reader and you want to have that first printing of a book, then you better hurry and get your copy now. Now, after me talking about it so much, here is the official overview of the book.

It is a golden age. Intrepid hyperspace scouts expand the reach of the Repubic to the furthest stars, worlds flourish under the benevolent leadership of the Senate, and peace reigns, enforced by the wisdom and strength of the renowned order of Force users known as the Jedi. With the Jedi at the height of their power, the free citizens of the galaxy are confident in their ability to weather any storm But the even brightest light can cast a shadow, and some storms defy any preparation. When a shocking catastrophe in hyperspace tears a ship to pieces, the flurry of shrapnel emerging from the disaster threatens an entire system. No sooner does the call for help go out than the Jedi race to the scene. The scope of the emergence, however, is enough to push even Jedi to their limit. As the sky breaks open and destruction rains down upon the peaceful alliance they helped to build, the Jedi must trust in the Force to see them through a day in which a single mistake could cost billions of lives. Even as the Jedi battle valiantly against calamity, something truly deadly grows beyond the boundary of the Republic. The hyperspace disaster is far more sinister than the Jedi could ever suspect. A threat hides in the darkness, far from the light of the age, and harbors a secret that could strike fear into even a Jedi’s heart.
