Marvel has been putting out some great movies and soon streaming series for the last 10 years but what does the future hold? There are a lot of questions in the air about characters that we’ve seen and ones we want to see on the big and small screens. Phase 4 is about to kick off for the MCU with the WandaVision series on Disney+ airing on January 20, 2021, but what else will we get?

In an interview with Deadline Kevin Feige talked some about the future of Marvel and though his answer was very short and didn’t give any insight, to me it was the most important part of the interview. The part I’m speaking of is when Kevin Feige was asked about the Netflix series for Marvel, his answer was short.

“Well, certainly you’ve seen what we announced at Comic-Con a year and half ago and on Disney Investor Day a few weeks ago, so that’s our focus. But I’ve been at Marvel long enough to never say never about anything. “

So, that don’t really say much but could mean a lot. There could be some thoughts about using the characters of Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Punisher. On the other hand, this could also mean that just because they are thinking about it, it doesn’t mean any would be used.

Though, if you are keeping up with the news of Spider-Man 3, then you know that the actor Charlie Cox will be in it. This means it’s already happening that the Netflix characters or I should say, character, is being used for a upcoming project. However, there is a slight catch in this little fact.

Yes, Daredevil from Netflix is being transferred over to the big screen within the MCU, which is great news. Now, does that mean he will be a part of the full MCU? Maybe not. I say this because the Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland are a part of the MCU and are made by Marvel, they are still a Sony property. That means that the character of Daredevil that Charlie Cox plays could remain in the Spider-Man movies but not part of the proper MCU movies. Add in the fact that the Spider-Man 3 movie is looking more like a multiverse plot where there will be multiple Spider-Man’s from alternate universes, this could mean Daredevil is not in the MCU that we know of and have seen. He could easily be from a different universe.

If he ends up being from a different universe, that means Marvel could say that yes, though he was a part of the Spider-Man movie and that the Spider-Man movie is a part of the MCU, Daredevil was not. He was from a different universe that will not be explored further than what was shown on the Spider-Man movie. If this is the case, then all the other Netflix characters would be from that same universe and would not be used.

Going off that idea, Marvel could then say that the Matt Murdock of the MCU world that we know has been training and after learning of the Daredevil from the alternate universe, he decides to take on that persona. Then Marvel would be able to bring in Daredevil into their MCU while having a new actor play him and restart his story fresh from their view of him in the MCU movie world.

Me personally, I really hope that Marvel brings in all these characters from Netflix. Yes, Iron Fist had some issues but with Marvel taking full control of that character they could tighten up on those issues. I also think that the actor Mike Colter was perfect for the role of Luke Cage and he would be a wasted talent if he wasn’t brought back. That also goes for Krysten Ritter and Jon Bernthal. How awesome would it be to see The Defenders movie where they go up against the Punisher? Lets see these characters brought back to the screen, big or small.
